Here is the last batch. I have to say it, when I walk around the areas where the fishermen are at it, most of them are NOT wearing facemasks. They also looked very, very seedy. There are some nice curio shops, though, and the restaurant prices were not outrageous.
This blog will document a journey of exploration of the world through photography. I also want to document cultural performances, but during the time of COVID, these are extremely restricted or nonexistent. The world has not gone away, however.

Redondeando
And a few more Redondo Beach photos. This was towards the end, as I was about to conclude my two hours of wandering around this attraction. There were no crowds, I can imagine the businesses are hurting. It was such a different place before the pandemic.
More Redondo cellphone photos from yesterday
Here is another batch. The light was starting to peek out from the marine layer the longer I stayed, but I only stayed until 1:30 p.m. I needed to get on the freeway soon after because, otherwise, rush-hour traffic would be a nightmare on the 91 freeway driving east.

The world is REDONDO, so there I went
A few cellphone photos of my trip to Redondo Beach, CA. It took an hour and a half to get there, and the way was very winding and long! I had forgotten that this beach was so out-of-the-way, but also, I think I took the longest route. It was about 11:30 a.m., and I was hoping for some clouds, but instead, it was a thick marine layer. There went my hope for infrared and red filter black and white photos.
When I was a kid we used to come here to spend a few hours over the weekend. I remember it as a seedy, rundown place, and especially, I remember that this was the time when electronic games were being pioneered, and that simple Pong game was something that amazed us. I don't play videogames, and I know I sound old when I write this, but the technology has evolved. I prefer stories without the visual special effects or the frenetic action that pumps your body with continual surges of adrenaline.
Well, speaking of which, I did experience certain discomfort and shock to the system. There were way too many people walking, riding around or jogging without wearing facemasks. I would move out of the way and they would ignore me, or else, I would see a hardened expression on their faces. No wonder LA county was suffocating with the heavy load of Covid cases recently. Each time one of those people passed by me, I trembled.
Problematic Pumpkin Promises Problems
Sorry for the alliteration in the title. Here are the problematic 4x5 black and white negatives I took yesterday (Tuesday) when I climbed up Mt. Tim Burton, or rather, on the hike up to Pumpkin
Rock in Norco. I developed them yesterday and saw that they were extraordinarily thin, there was hardly anything there, like Gertrude Stein is supposed to have sniffed about the provincial central California towns. I think I know what happened. I was using Foma 4x5 film at ISO 100, but really, it should be rated at 80 or lower. I was also using a red 25A filter, which cuts out another 2-3 stops, plus using f16, which was a no-no, so in essence, I starved the negatives of photos, and the came out thin. That, or it was the curse of the Great Pumpkin. And Epson, because the scans came out with more spots than stars found in the center of the galaxy.
