And here are a few college gymnastics photos from a meet in the Bay Area late in the 90s. By then I had learned my lesson long ago, I needed to use 1000 or 1600 ISO film, and I needed to expose manually, and I needed to set a fast enough shutter speed, typically at least 1/200 if I was going to be shooting movement with a telephoto lens that was 200mm. (They say, the inverse of the focal length of the telephoto lens should be your minimum speed). The negatives still come out underexposed, but at least you get some image, although in dim gymns, it can be difficult. Also remember, an uncluttered background is the best!
