35mm panoramas with the Fuji GW690ii

Well, a few weeks ago I had found a video on Youtube that listed a way in which we could use 35mm film without going through the whole rigamarole of having to tape backing paper to the film in order to get the Fuji camera to recognize and move the film forward. It was this video:

So I did it, and I was able to use some color film and take a roll. I got, as I recall, 13 or 14 exposures. What did I get when I scanned the negatives? Sheer awfulness. I don't know what happened to the colors, they turned purple. Why, why, why? I tried correcting with software but couldn't do so. My verdict: I will try this with black and white film, but not with color anymore.
